In order to make $1M in one year, it starts with the belief that this is possible.
Now, here’s the thing, you don’t even need to have complete confidence that it’s possible for you. I just need you to understand that this feat of making $1M in one year is possible.
You already know at least one person who has done it before – me.
I went from $200K in revenue in 2016 to $1M in revenue in 2017.
Now, was it hard? Yes, but not for the reasons that you think, and I’ll explain more in a little bit.
Is it possible? Yes, absolutely. I am living, walking proof that this is possible, and if you look at the results of some of our clients, you’ll know that I am not the only one.

Today we’re talking all about how to create a plan to make this year your most profitable to date.
Whether your goal is $1M, $250,000 or even $75,000, today’s show is going to be exactly what you need to get off to a good start.
This episode is a juicy one and will be divided into two parts:
- mindset and
- sales and marketing.
Part 1: Million-Dollar Mindset.
After I set an annual revenue goal for my business, I like to set aside some time to journal and ask myself 5 questions to really dig deep and unlock the biggest subconscious beliefs that may be holding me back.
We’ve all got them, and I find that every year of growth reveals a new set of beliefs to dismantle and replace.
Now, the thing about letting go of old beliefs is that it will be much easier for you to do if you have a new belief to replace it with.
That new belief can act as an anchor in the new paradigm that you’ll create for yourself, so make sure to download this podcast to save it for later.
Listen to the questions now to get your wheels turning, but don’t write anything down just yet.
Later, re-listen to the podcast and set aside 20 minutes or so to journal your answers to the following five questions.

Here we go.
1. What negative habit or behavior do you currently hold that if let go, would unlock your earning potential and make it easier for you to make $1M this year?
2. What is this specific feeling that drives that behavior?
3. What is the specific thought that drives that feeling?
4. What would it feel like if you were able to just completely make that thought disappear?
5. What actions would you start taking in your business as a result of that feeling?
6. What would happen as a result of those actions?
Now, the reason making $1M in annual revenue is hard for some is because they haven’t made any room for that to happen.
Their head is crowded with thoughts on a loop that are keeping them stuck.
For me, the belief I had to let go of in order to have my first million-dollar year all those years ago, was that I wasn’t enough.
That belief caused me to live in fear that I would never achieve my goals and to beat myself up more than I needed anytime things didn’t go as planned.
Bouncing back from setbacks and mistakes was harder than it needed to be because of all the negative self-talk I was engaging in.
Perhaps being hard on myself and forcing myself to work without rest may have been something that served me in the past, but it certainly wasn’t serving me anymore.
I was tired, felt burnt out, and all the negative self-talk I was carrying around felt incredibly heavy.
Now, once I identified the core belief that was holding me back, I’m not enough, then I was able to replace it with the new belief, I am enough.
I wrote, ‘I Am Enough’ on a Post-It and I placed it right next to my laptop.
I was committed to holding that belief because I knew it was the only way I would ever reach my million-dollar goal.
Remember that creating your new belief is key.
It’s what you can direct your attention towards over and over again.
Now remember, I want you to save this episode because it’s really important that you go back and take some time to really dig deep and journal some answers to those questions.

Part 2: Million-Dollar Sales and Marketing.
Those of you that know me well know that I am a huge proponent of starting out your business by selling an online course.
Selling a high-ticket group coaching program is great for after you’re already past your million-dollar year, but if you’re working your way to your very first million-dollar year, I want you to focus on selling an online course.
Here’s why.
While scaling a high-ticket group coaching program can be hard and expensive, as you’ll have to do all the sales and delivery yourself until you can afford to hire a bigger coaching team to assist your clients and an even bigger sales team to convert prospects into customers, plus even more software staff and operation systems to keep things running smoothly and absolutely no time to spend on marketing tasks that actually drive traffic to your sales team.
However, scaling an online course is both simple and profitable, and I want you to remember those two words when it comes to selling and marketing your online course: simple and profitable.
I’ve found that most course creators tend to overcomplicate their business as they fail to remember this essential rule of business: simple scales and complex fails.

So you need 2 things to scale to 1 million dollars with your online course:
1. Sales mechanism.
2. Traffic.
So let’s talk about what a sales mechanism is first and what you need to look for when it comes to creating one.
A sales mechanism is something that reliably converts traffic, also known as large groups of people, into customers.
The sales mechanism that we teach inside Scale With Success® Accelerator is called a sales engine, which is more powerful than both live webinars and automated webinars.

Simple is profitable and scalable.
Now, consumer behavior has shifted and nobody wants to wait until your next live launch in order to buy.
There’s too many available options for them, and they’ll just go to one of your competitors that is selling 24/7.
It’s 2023, and if you don’t have an automated profitable sales engine that converts attention into a lead into a customer, you’re going to be left in the dust.

Now, my absolutely favorite strategy for generating traffic straight to my sales engine is the short social video.
So make a video that is less than 60 seconds and post it anywhere your heart desires, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Pinterest, you name it.
All these platforms are prioritizing short form video content that’s less than 60 seconds, and since you have a sales engine that is working 24/7, you’ll actually have time to create that content.
That’s because your sales process is automated and takes zero time from you.
You can turn these videos into an ad that drives traffic to your sales engine as well, but it’s not necessary.
It kills me every time I watch a course creator’s video on TikTok or listen to their podcast and they do not have a sales engine.
Instead, they ask me to follow them or send me to some lead magnet where they ask me to then wait months before their next launch.
No, thank you. I buy a ton of online courses for me and my team, and it’s gotten to the point where if someone is launching, I’ll likely never buy.
I don’t have time, and I’ll just go somewhere else.
So let’s recap your plan for your million dollar year.
Number 1: create a new belief to help you reach your goals faster by asking yourself each of the 5 questions I shared earlier.
Number 2: build a profitable sales engine, forget about live webinars and automated webinars, that sells your course on autopilot.
Number 3: make simple short videos that add value and drive traffic to your sales engine.
Simple, profitable, and even dare I say, fun.
