I have a confession to make. When I first started hosting my group, I wasn’t exactly “a natural”. In fact, it took me nearly a year to figure out how to run a successful Facebook group.
I can’t help but notice that many of you are making the exact same mistakes that I did.
Mistake #1: Hoping sales will “just happen”.
Most people think Facebook groups are a gold mine – and they are.
The problem is, if you don’t have a strategy in place, you’re not going to make any money.
Here’s what to do:
First, make a list of what you’re going to sell in your Facebook group.
Second, decide when you are going to promote each thing. Write it down in your calendar.
Third, decide how you are going to sell it. Do you want to run a short challenge? Do you want to promote a lead magnet that leads them through a sales funnel? It’s your choice.
Mistake #2: Creating TOO MUCH free content for your group.
Bombarding your members with free worksheets, challenges, checklists, etc can be incredibly overwhelming.
It’s overwhelming for you, because you have to create all of it AND it’s overwhelming to your group members, because they feel they have to consume it.
Your members need clarity, not a neverending supply of freebies.
Instead, stick with 2-3 freebies that you regularly promote in exchange for their email address. Each freebie should directly relate to a product you are selling and lead them through a sales funnel.
